What it does:

How it works:

The intake air in your engine travels through the airbox into the turbo, then into the aluminum intake manifold. The air exits the intake manifold and goes directly into the engine.

While the intake air is within the intake manifold it picks up alot of heat from the aluminum intake manifold. This added heat reduces air density thus reducing engine power capabilities.In stock form your engine has a steel gasket between the intake manifold and engine which allows the heat from the engine to quickly transfer into the intake manifold. By replacing this steel gasket with the GrimmSpeed™ Phenolic Spacer you are greatly reducing the transfer of engine heat into the intake manifold.Phenolic Spacers are able to withstand 500+ degrees F. Subaru engines run at the hotter end of operation around 200 degrees F, so the Phenolic Spacer is well within its max running temperature. GrimmSpeed™ has tested that it is also safe to run race fuel, E85, and methanol with the Phenolic Spacers.The Phenolic Spacer will conduct 300-900 times less heat than the oem steel gasket.

Using GFB’s TMS technology the Mach 2 can help return the engine to peak boost up to 30% faster than a factory diverter valve when shifting gears (more information below).

Like the Respons and Deceptor Pro II, the Mach 2 is available in a range of bolt-on kits for most popular turbo models. And when we say “bolt-on”, that’s exactly what we mean! No additional adaptors, parts or vehicle modifications are required – simply remove the factory bypass valve and replace it with the Mach 2 – it’s that simple!

The Mach 2 is configured as a 100% recirculating valve (i.e. bypass, plumb back) and add on kits are also available to convert to 100% atmosphere venting.

Use the recirc model for direct factory replacement when you want the performance WITHOUT the noise! Add the conversion kit when you want some noise with your performance!

Factory bypass valves have two main shortcomings – one is that they are typically designed to start opening above a certain pressure to protect the engine, and the other is they are not optimised for throttle response. Oh, and you can’t vent them to atmosphere without stalling your engine…
The Mach 2 solves all of these issues. It can effectively hold unlimited boost (unlimited in that no turbo could ever produce enough pressure to damage it), and the TMS technology ensures maximum throttle response

Install Guide

Air Pump deletes are the perfect solution to removing the troublesome factory air pump system. CNC machined from Billet Aluminium and annodised in Black, these delete plates will cover the open ports on the cylinder heads with style. Included are two delete plates and stainless steel fasteners.

GFB have re-designed their WRX lightweight pulley to provide even more benefits. It is now shaped to look exactly like the factory Subaru pulley, so it goes unnoticed in your engine bay - it even uses the factory belts! A significant amount of weight has been removed from around the rim for even better throttle response. The pulley weighs in at 578g (previously 790g), compared to the factory 2180g on the WRX and 2575g on the STI. This pulley will improve throttle response (particularly off-boost response) and allow the engine to rev more freely in the upper rev range.

The SEPR8R comes as a complete bolt on generic fit kit easily adapted to any performance engine bay. With the SEPR8R kit you will receive the billet aluminium catch can with internal filtration system, a precision bracket to bolt into your engine bay, hoses to route the gasses, along with the required clamps and mounting hardware. The Stage 1 clutch kit uses an upgraded pressure plate with increased clamping pressure, combined with an organic friction disc. Featuring GFB’s patented venting bias adjustment system, the Respons allows you to precisely control how much air vents from each of the two outlets.

Why is this so important? Two key reasons:

Adjust how loud the blow-off sound is. Recirculate all of the air for silent factory operation, vent it all to atmosphere for maximum noise, or set it ANYWHERE in between to suit your preference.

Get a blow-off sound WITHOUT causing stalling, backfiring, or any other BOV-related issues, even on a car with a sensitive airflow meter (MAF).
Hold on, it gets better. The Respons isn’t just a noise-maker. It also;

• Offers better throttle response
• Faster boost recovery on gearshift
• Unlimited boost-holding!

For example, using GFB’s TMS (Turbo Management System) principle, tests show that the Respons can return the engine to peak boost up to 30% faster than a factory diverter valve when shifting gears.

Unlike the factory solenoid,this 3-Port Solenoid allows you to raise the factory boost levels with more response and adding more control.

With this solenoid no boost pressure is allowed through to the actuator so no premature boost can occur. The 3-Port Solenoid allows lower wastegate duty cycle to produce higher boost pressures with much greater control,thereby allowing tuners more “headroom” and “space” when modifying high horsepower turbo vehicles.

The kit includes the 3-Port Boost Control Solenoid and harness for plug and play install with Subaru models. We recommend using it only with hoses of the highest quality.

Tuning Notes:

Because this upgraded solenoid affects the way that your vehicle controls boost, it is always recommended that you consult with a tuner immediately following installation. It is not recommended that you drive the car in a way that builds boost without doing so. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch with us directly!
